COMPACT safety light curtains and multiple light beam safety devices
Are active optoelectronic protective devices (AOPD) type 4 according to EN 61496-1, -2 and/or IEC 61496-1, -2.
The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver, and is obtainable as a light curtain with 14 mm and 30 mm resolution or as a multiple light beam safety devices with 50 mm and 90 mm resolution. The design may include either two, three or four beams. Its range of functions is flexible and can be extended at will by the use of external interface modules of the MSI series.

The well established Compact safety light curtain is now available as the COMPACT EX 1, which is suitable for use in areas where there is risk of explosion either in zone 2 (gas) or zone 21 (dust)

The aim of the COMPACTplus range is to live up to any future expectations in terms of top functionality, flexible integration and ease of operation. As an extension of the tried and tested COMPACT range, COMPACTplus incorporates as a bonus a number of additional fully integrated functions, such as for example a startup/restart interlock, electronic device monitoring and blanking. The various interface options that are available make it possible to connect the system at will either to conventional safety components or to safety bus systems.

Diagnostic and Parameterizing Software for COMPACTplus safety sensors
SafetyLab facilitates the diagnosis and parameterizing of COMPACTplus safety light curtains and multi-beam safety light curtains from firmware version 3.10 and upward. The PC software supports the COMPACTplus functional packages designated by the suffixes –b (blanking), -m (muting) and –i (machine cycle control). As with a safety PLC system, functions, control signals and notification messages can to a great extent be freely selected and assigned to the input and output channels of the receiver, up to the number of 15. This means that the COMPACTplus safety sensors can be ideally adapted to the task in hand, based on the specifications of the machine.

Type 2 Safety light curtains and multiple light beam safety devices
Machines that present a low risk of injury and have limited space available require opto-electronic safety devices that are both compact and economical.
ECO, the innovative Type 2 Safety light curtains and multiple light beam safety devices, fulfill both of these crucial requirements. Available in a variety of protective heights, their housing has a cross-section of just 17 mm x 33 mm.
ECO devices comply with the IEC 61496-1, -2 and have received European type approval from TÜV PRODUCT SERVICE in cooperation with the German BIA (Trade Association Institute for Industrial Safety; optical part IEC 61496-2). Various test monitoring units such as TNT 35 or safety interface components from the MSI series (or PLC solutions with added relays) can be used with the application.
